Strategy description
The EURJPY Ichimoku TEMA Breakout Strategy is a structured rule-based breakout system designed for the EURJPY H1 market. Its goal is to participate only when price confirms directional intent through a clear Ichimoku Kumo breakout, while using volatility-adjusted pending entries to avoid impulsive market execution.
The strategy uses the Ichimoku cloud breakout as its primary directional filter. Once a valid bullish or bearish breakout is confirmed, the system does not enter immediately at market. Instead, it places a pending STOP order around a TEMA-based reference level, shifted by a volatility buffer derived from the Bollinger Band Width Ratio. This allows the strategy to wait for additional price confirmation before entering the trade.
For long setups, the strategy requires a bullish Kumo breakout and places a Buy Stop above the shifted TEMA level plus the volatility buffer. For short setups, it requires a bearish Kumo breakout and places a Sell Stop below the shifted TEMA level minus the same type of buffer. Pending orders remain valid for 24 bars, duplicate trades are disabled, and pending order replacement is allowed.
Risk management is intentionally simple and disciplined. Each trade uses a fixed stop-loss of 35 pips and a fixed profit target of 195 pips. In addition, the system applies a time-based exit after 36 bars and closes open trades on Friday at 19:00 to reduce weekend exposure.
